

| During the hunt everyone must wear at least 400 square inches of hunter orange that is visible from all directions. Minimum rifle caliber is .243. Handguns are not permitted and are illegal. It is highly recommended that you make use of a scoped rifle, have better than average optics, top of the line hunting boots, good quality rain gear, and bring a good quality sleeping bag. |
| Ptarmigan are migratory birds that come into our area mid - season and stay through the winter. They are cyclic and will vary in numbers from year to year. This is a beautiful game bird that will be brown in color during August and by mid September will be half brown and half white. By the end of September they will have completely changed to their winter colors. They can be hunted with a light gauge shotgun, 22 rim fire or a sling shot all under the authority of a small game permit. |
